Ilish Macher Dhakai Paturi – Fish in Banana Leaves
Macher Paturi Dhakai the Ilish is a dish of fish cooked in a banana leaf. This is a very good dish that comes from Bangladesh.
INGREDIENTS
1 1/2 lbs white fleshed fish filets – carp, bass, trout or any fish you like.
3 teaspoons mustard seeds, ground or 3 teaspoons prepared mustard
4 serrano peppers, finely chopped
1 tablespoon turmeric
banana leaf
DIRECTIONS
1. Mix all ingredients together to make a rub. Rub on fish.
2. Wrap fish in banana leaves.
3. Bake in a 300° oven on a baking pan until the banana leaves dry out and shrink in size. about 10-20 minutes.
